20 sep, 2017 - Once upon a time 21 years ago today I launched a web site called terrapindream, and that first night I wrote that I wanted to move out to northern California and live on a farm. Years later, without even trying I did that very thing. All chance and accidents and long cascades of causation.

I've been here 17 years now in this sacred Zion Valley. Off the grid, way off the road, almost feral. It has been the greatest adventure of my adventurous life.

21 sep, 2017 - hmm we got a tip that Fish and Wildlife are going to raid three properties on our road tomorrow. We're fairly certain who two of them are. That leaves the wild card. If they come to our farm they'll find no sketchy environmental practices. We are so tuned in to this valley and all the plants and creatures who live here.We are the valley.

But... they could take down our plants. We're in the permitting process and have met all county requirements, but Fish and Wildlife does not answer to the sheriff or the county supervisors. We've heard rumors of F&W tearing down plants and being generally uptight.

22 sep, 2017 -
Today was good. No angry aggro official guys came tp the farm. In a series of images I gratefully receieved the embrace offered in the heartfelt light of breast and neck and paisley. Birds began singing and the neighbor's sheep touched themselves.

And so the picture was finished. Sometimes you don't want the creation of it to end. But I'm working on construction of this web site and have to get back to it.

BTW, this is my face when looking into the eyes of modern popular culture.

I just stumbled upon this pic while looking for something else.

This guy is tripping hard. He went to the desert, took acid and is now listening to music which, to him, is the most moving music ever made.

I took the screen shot from a video he made. He's not in America but I can't remember the country he's in. He has an accent. I think he's Iranian. It's been a few years but I think I recall he went around to different spots and took acid and just filmed it. There were several of his videos on youtube.

He's at the beginning of the peak - trembling, smiling helplessly, his eyes welling with tears. Most people would probably find it boring, but I love to observe people when they're in this state and the emotions come pouring out

I also appreciate the increasing number of people who are coming out of the psychedelic closet. It's time we talk freely about psychedelics and what place they will have in our culture. They'll never go away. We can be shut down about it all and allow the black market and public ignorance to continue to be our paradigm - or we can study these chemicals and the novel states of consciousness they produce.

Take Helen Babcock, for instance. From a rather conservative small town in Iowa, she went public and announced her ongoing experiments with LSD. Helen is the kind of courageous American who can make a real difference in the public perception of psychedelics and the people who use them.

25 September, 2017 - What happened is the moment I finished the web site I decided it wasn't right. I made the images too large. I needed to add a smaller version of each image. The whole project took two weeks. I'm o happy it's done and I can go back to dreaming a little bit now and then.

This is kind of where I left off, and I want to go back and play with the look and feel some more.
